DisCHARney 2: Jiminy Cricket

I have decided to do an entire blog on the DisCHARney of the week.  So, after the DisCHARney has been announced on Monday look out for the blog post completely devoted to that Character. In the blog post I will also be including all the DisHINTneys for the following weeks DisCHARney.  Look on the right side bar of the blog and submit who you think the DisCHARney is; based off of the DisHINTneys.  You will have from Saturday to Monday evening to submit your guess.  I HOPE EVERYONE is enjoying the blog if so head over to Facebook (www.facebook.com/dislizney) and like the page.  Also, you can follow me on Twitter (www.twitter.com/dislizney) and pinterest (www.pinterest.com/dislizney)

DisCHARney 2: Jiminy Cricket

Full name: Sir Jiminy H. Cricket

"Just Let Your Conscience Be your Guide"

Jiminy Cricket is the beloved sidekick from Pinocchio!  He is the personified version of a conscience.  How great would it be to actually talk to your conscience?  It would be a lot harder to make a bad decision if you could.  Jiminy is the first of a long line of Disney sidekicks.  He is the only sidekick to be as important as the protagonist (Pinocchio).  He is also the only Disney Sidekick to appear independently from his original film.  We often see Jiminy in Video games as the "Guide" throughout the game (Kingdom Hearts) this is very fitting since Jiminy is in fact a guide for life.

This is a link to a YouTube video of Wishes where Jiminy is the narrator through out the show.  A fitting choice since aside from Mickey Jiminy's is also very well know and he is a guide for many. This is a disHINTney see if you can connect the dots.

This is a link to a youtube video on how to draw Jiminy Cricket.  I used this to give you a little Disney magic. You can feel like you are in Hollywood Studios. DisTIPney: if you sit through the drawing class you will have an excellent suvineer to bring home with you! (We drew Dopey and framed it to put in our office) If you don't to watch the video here is a picture guide http://m.wikihow.com/Draw-Jiminy-Cricket
DisHINTney: While you are drawing Jiminy pay attention to the surroundings you will see next weeks DisCHARney.

Interesting..
"Jiminy Cricket"  was often used in place "Jesus Christ" as a euphemism.

  1. Howdy! I know this is kinda off topic however I'd figured
I'd ask. Would you be interested in exchanging links or maybe
guest authoring a blog post or vice-versa? My website discusses a lot of the same topics as
yours and I feel we could greatly benefit from each other.
If you're interested feel free to send me an e-mail.
I look forward to hearing from you! Awesome blog by the way!
